The Color for Your Lips

Don't you just love it when you see all that pretty colors?

Despite of being a beauty blogger, I am not as experienced or as good as most of beauty bloggers out there in terms of putting on cosmetic on my face. Mostly because I am kinda picky on stuffs and I am not good at art. Kudos to all the ladies (or not ladies) who put on make up on their face regularly. I am seriously bad at drawing eyebrows, eye shadow, highlighting, etc.

I am so bad at those stuffs that the only make up that I regularly wear/use will be lipstick. Who else agree with me that a single touch of lipstick can already heighten the feature of your face? Even if I am not good at putting on make up, but I can at the very least put on some color on my lips. That would already categorize as make up for me. That is why picking up a good color and a good quality of lipstick is such a big deal to me. I am a sucker for colorful, bright lipsticks.

I love this small size Vaselline Lip Balm. It is odorless and no color. It feels kinda sticky a bit. But I adore the result so much. I started put on this  lip balm every night before bed and every morning before put on some lipstick. I haven't had chap lips ever since. I forgot to put it on for a week. But still, it hasn't change much.

This is Sephora's product. I forgot the price for this one. Bought it in Huntsville. So I assume it should be slightly cheaper than the one in Indonesia. I just try it today, not much to tell for now.

I loooooove this one.
Got it in Sephora, the brand is SmashBox, color Vivid Violet. I love the result on my lips, not too dark but not too light either. Got the perfect combination of dark/light color for my lips and definitely suitable for brown-ish skin like mine. Other reason to love this product is that it is moisturize my lips perfectly. You know, sometimes a product would tell us that they do have moisturizer or Vitamin E on their product but you ended up with chapped lips anyway. Yeah, this is not like that. I don't really need lip balm for this one. I tried it immediately after buying it and it was a windy autumn in Alabama. Yet, I got my lips moisturized with this gorgeous lipstick. Definitely wanna try more color from SmashBox now.

This one is L'oreal 262 (Fresh as Rose), pink rosy color. I used this one more often than the rest. The color is very appropriate for office, a date, girls day out, sunny day, etc.
Very important that this one also gives me the right amount of moisturizer with or without the lip balm.

I am still on the look for a very vibrant bright pink lipstick, a vibrant neon orange lipstick, a dark Alabama red lipstick, a dark purple lipstick, a vibrant bright red lipstick. So if you are currently using or if you know certain brands of lipstick that match my description also has moisturizer (a good one obviously), Do let me know!?

I will hunt for some more of this colorful lipstick.

Singapore Trip for a Shopaholic: Part 1, Sephora Shopping

Hi there,

I would like to share my experience going on a shopping trip to Singapore last month. I keep trying to write about it, but I got so lazy hehehe.

Pictures taken before, during, and after the flight to Singapore.

Me and Giant decided to go to Singapore to extent his Visa to be able to stay longer in Indonesia. I stayed in a hotel Hollywood 81 in Geylang Road. Hotel

It was cheap, around 70USD/night. The room was a bit too small, but it was clean and they have a nice and helpful staffs. It was a bit far from the MRT Station, so we decided to buy a 3 days "Your Singapore" ticket for 35USD with refund 15USD/card. This ticket will allow us to travel using MRT and bus too. The closes MRT to our hotel was a bit further away, so we prefer taking bus from Geylang Road. Usually bus no 7 because it covers route to the central of the city like Dholbi Gaut, Orchard, and Bugis Junction.

The first thing I did after arriving in Singapore was visiting my office (We have office branch in Singapore too) for a office related business. Then we took MRT to a closer location from the hotel. Turned out it was not close at all. We had to walk around 30min around noon. It was crazy hot and I started to be more cranky. I could not stand hot weather..well neither cold weather.

We went to hotel and went to Orchard road to find Sephora store. It was not easy to find it. We practically lost our way several times. We kept trying to find the store because I thought the store is not gonna be inside of a mall, we spent 2 hours walking around the Orchard Road. Then we decided to ask random woman on the street. I believed a woman might now Shepora store, since it is one of the biggest make up store in the world. And I  was right. Finally we found it inside a mall, ION Orchard. They should let us know which floor it is. So it will be easier to find. Sigh.

GlamGlow Mud for 92SGD or around Rp.900.000.
Woa this is crazy. I think the price in Jakarta is around Rp.750.000

Boyfriend not having a good time in make up store ;-p
I don't understand why people keep wanting to go back to this place. Most of the products price were actually more expensive than the one being sold in Indonesia. I bought GlamGlow (well bf bought it for me) for 35USD and it was 92SGD in Singapore. Too much when they are being sold for 75USD in Indonesia/Jakarta.

I only bought several things from Sephora, mostly because they are cute.

1. Sephora Cotton pads
2. 3 Shepora Mini Bubbles
3. Shepora Dry Shampoo
4. Benefit Mascara: They're Real

In the next post I will write about our experience visiting, shopping, and eating in Little India, Bugis Junction, and Bugis Street. Not to miss, find out why I was crying and almost hyperventilating in Singapore Airport before coming back to Indonesia.

2nd Post here!!!

Review: Glam Glow YouthMud Tinglexfoliate Treatment

Hi Chicas,

It has been a while since last week when I posted a quick review on EM Life Palette (Love Life). Now I am back with a new review of Glam Glow YouthMud. I am sure some of my fellow blogger and beauty gurus already put/wrote a review on this product. So, this one is basically my personal experience and opinion after using it twice.

I got this product from the Giant who came visiting from America. So, i got it for a cheaper price around 35$ from Amazon. The Indonesian price for this product is around 70$, twice the original price.

Here it is the packaging and unboxing it;

It says on the box that it contains;
1. Youth formula
2. Natural Ingredients
3. For All skin types
4. For Men and Women
5. Paraben Free
6. Vegan and No Animal Cruelty

I was quite surprise when I opened the packaging. I got a message from Glam Glow that made my day.
It says "Hello Sexy" yeaaaay!!!

Left: First Time
Right: Second Time

Before (Left) & After (Right)

2nd Try (Left) & Before 1st Try (Right)

I believe I don't even have to say anything. Despite of the different lightning, I am sure you can see the different on the before, after, and after 2nd try. So far, I am loving it. However, for a girl with low pain tolerance, the tingling feels a bit stronger than I would expect. I am sure it is nothing for most people. But I am always be that girl who scream in massage parlor or beauty parlor when they give me scrub treatment or back massage treatment during cream bath routine. I have low tolerance of pain, lower than most people. so, I am pretty sure the tingle feeling might not be that strong or that annoying to most people.

Love:
1. The Packaging
2. The message of "Hello Sexy"
3. The ingredients
4. The effect on my skin

Less:
1. The smell is a bit too strong for me.
2. The tingle feeling
3. The price (if I have to buy it in Indonesia)

I will let you to decide whether it is worth the price or not and whether it is worth to buy or not. I hope you will have a wonderful experience using it too.

Have a Wonderful Day, Wonderful People

Quick Review: Em Life Palette (Love Life)

Aloha....Chicas..

I am back with another review. This one that I have promised you a while ago. I know I said I would wrote the review on early January but I got sick the past 2 weeks and his parents visiting from the States to meet my parents, love life has taken over. Right now, finally after 2 weeks of relentless coughing, I feel a lot better now.

So here I am, writing a review in between Tea Time break (in the office..sssttt)

I promise you that I have never used this EM Life Palette before I give you my review. I am pretty excited to finally make a review and finally I will be able to use it for daily needs or special occasion.

Here it is.. the Oh-SO-Gorgeous EM Life Palette (Love Life)

I love the packaging on how practice it is for me to pick any of my fav colors for a small compact size. The colors on this palette, some of them, I like it. But the rest, I would say my least favorite. Actually, I prefer the colors from the Beach Palette but I won't be able to use it as often for daily use.

I got a card contains information of each colors.
I haven't put a sticker above each palettes

under room light and no flash

under room light with flash
with stickers above each palettes

compact size (combination of each series)

I could not get any good swatches due to lack of light. I will try to get it next time on a deeper review. For now, I am giving you my first and quick review of the palette.

Love:
1. The Gorgeous yet sleek packaging
2. Comes with free compact size
3. Easy to pluck in and out the colors if I wanna get it for my compact size
4. I like some of the colors (100% for the blush, 70% for the eyeshadow, 55% for the lip stain)
5. The shimmer colors on all of those shimmer ones are pretty normal and natural for daily looks.
6. Love the magnet pluck out thingy to help me remove the color blocks from the palette.
7. Decent 2 edges brush
8. Has better experience with this eyeshadow than the one I tried from Kanebo.
9. Easy to use and comes with lots of tutorial on YouTube.

Less:
1. The palette bowl color is white, so it is easily stained. (At least, it is easy remove the stain.)
2. I don't really care for some of the colors, especially for the lip stain.
3. The colors is not as opaque or as pigmented as I thought it will be.
4. Way too expensive for my range.

I think EM Cosmetics is a new brand and they are still experiencing glitch in some of their products. I fully understand it tho. I think EM hasn't reach its best potential yet. They definitely have good potential and I am still looking forward to their next best invention. I hope they haven't done experimenting on the colors and the quality of the products. I sincerely hope they will make a Life Palette 2.0 with better products quality, better consistency on the color's pigments and opaqueness.

Overall: 7.5
*) I still think this is a good product. Easy to use and practice. However, I still think they can do better with the quality of the products, at least this one (haven't tried other yet).
**) Do I think it is worth 75$? Maybe not quite there yet.
***) Will I repurchase? I might wanna try some other palettes like Beach Palette. But, and only if it is around 50$ or less. Unless, I really love this product so much (quality, colors, etc) then maybe I won't mind the 75$ price.

Bonus:

First time using it. Yeaaay. A very soft look for lips and eyes.
Products:
EM Love Life Palette
Tony Moly CC Cream
Maybelline Orange Eye Liner

First Visit: Japan Beauty Week

Hi all,

Did you know that Kawaii Beauty Japan hosted an event in Atrium Plaza Senayan? It is called Japan Beauty Week. You can try to look for it on their Facebook page. Kawaii Beauty Japan

My office located next to the event place. So, I went there during our Tea Time Break around 4pm. It was quite easy to spot the event. There were not too many people yet. I think it will be crowded on weekend. Make sure you go and check the event.

These are the counters in Japan Beauty Week:

While I was looking, there is this lady from Kanebo counter, she asked me if I want to get free make up done by their famous Japanese Make up artist. So, I thought why not. It was free anyway. I said yes and they introduced me to Mr.Sakai. He didn't talk much but he knew "ke atas, ke bawah" when he gave me order whether to look down or up while he was doing my eyes. We developed some kind of sign language because we both not knowing each other language. He used sign when he wanted me to close my eyes or to look at his chin (why look at his chin? just so he could look at my face on a straight position)

He was very kind and attentive. I gave him my choice of make up and he decided on Japanese Style look, a very subtle look. I guess he looked at my soft pink outfit and thought that I might prefer sweet and subtle look. he was kinda wrong. I mean this was my first chance having a professional make up artist to do my face. I was hoping more of a make over or a surprise look. I mean sweet and subtle is my go-to look. I did that almost every time.

The colors of the eyeshadow look pretty, but when he applied it on my eye lids, it wasn't very pigmented. He already used Lunasol Eye Primer too, but still almost couldn't see the colors. This was kinda disappointing. I guess it was because of my skin color. The effect might be different for someone with fair or lighter skin color. I have dark skin color. So, I need more pigmented color.

Here is the final look:

However, boyfriend said he really likes my look. It does look sweet and suitable to my sweater. So, I was kinda content with his work, not necessarily the products tho. I do like their eye mascara (I forgot to take a picture of it), their soft color lipgloss (it doesn't taste oily and sticky on the lips). I might decide to buy them later. So, make sure to visit Kanebo counter and check some of their stuffs too. It might be suitable for your skin color. You will get free sample if you try the make up look by Mr.Sakai. He was very nice and really good at what his job.,quite perfectionist I would say.

Went to second counter, I got free skin and hair check up in Kracie Hadabisei. The result said that i have perfectly healthy skin despite of the hair coloring. Yeaaaay. Tho...hiks the result also said that I have oily skin yet lack of moisture. Go ahead check your skin there and they will give you free sample too if you fill up their questionnaire.

These are the samples I collected from the event. I got some from Kracie Hadabisei (2 masks and Shampoo Set) and I got Brightening Lotion from Kanebo. I am actually excited to use the one from Kanebo. After listening to the Kanebo lady in Sogo Counter, it really sound that this product is a good one. I will try to use it and we will see if it makes any change or not after a week of using.

So, what are you waiting for? Visit the event while they are still there. Japan Beauty Week will still be in Plaza Senayan till this Sunday (26th January 2014). Maybe I will see you again there.

Love,

Suci Park
